We purchased a rural property in Portugal some years ago. It came with a dying vineyard and garden filled with table grapes. We took on the challenge of caring for the vine ourselves, under the guidance of an oenologist. We settled for totally organic and biodynamic management of the grapes. The rest is history: the results are stunning.

Our workshops will provide useful tips and information about pre and post-harvest management of your vine and winemaking, such as pruning, managing your canopy, preventing and treating diseases, harvesting, crushing the grape, and more!  This workshop is ideal if you have a small landholding and you are pursuing a traditional, non-mechanized approach to vineyard care.

We follow the vine's lifecycle and organise various workshops throughout the year.  Each event builds on the other one. This is our first event of the year. The next one will take place between February and April depending on weather and vine conditions .

Topics covered in this workshop: 

- Hands-on workshop for beginners: pruning goblet-shaped shaped vines and trellis

- Tools.

- To mulch or to burn?  A discussion on handling your shavings, cuttings, and prunings,  and why.

- Collecting and preserving your cuttings for grafting  ( for March grafting) 

- Getting rid of dead bark: Why and How?

This workshop is limited to 8 persons per day, weather and Covid19 directives allowing. Please pick one among the 3 available days. Contact us if you wish to arrange a private event.

This is an outdoor/indoor workshop.

Please bring along: your masks, comfortable clothing, gardening gloves, and rubber boots.  

Tools: You will also need to bring along your garden shears and a sharpening tool  (not to worry, we have spare tools for you) 

We provide light refreshments.

 Etes-vous dans une situation similaire à la nôtre ?

Nos ateliers vous fourniront des conseils et des informations utiles sur la gestion de la vigne et de la vinification avant et après les vendanges, comme la taille, la gestion du couvert végétal, la prévention et le traitement des maladies, la récolte, le foulage du raisin, etc.  Cet atelier est idéal si vous disposez d'une petite propriété et que vous adoptez une approche traditionnelle et non mécanisée de l'entretien des vignobles.

Nous suivons le cycle de vie de la vigne et organisons différentes sessions tout au long de l'année. Il s'agit de notre premier événement de l'année. Le prochain aura lieu entre février et avril en fonction des conditions de l'année.

Thèmes abordés dans cet atelier : 

- Atelier pratique pour les débutants : taille des vignes en forme de gobelet et treillis.

- Outils.

- Pailler ou brûler ?  Une discussion sur la façon de manipuler vos copeaux, coupes et tailles, et pourquoi.

- Recueillir et conserver vos boutures pour le greffage ( pour le greffage de mars) 

- Se débarrasser des écorces mortes : Pourquoi et comment ?

Cet événement est limité à 8 personnes par jour, si la météo et les directives de Covid19 le permettent. Veuillez choisir un des 3 jours disponibles. Veuillez nous contacter si vous souhaitez organiser un événement privé.

Il s'agit d'un atelier extérieur/intérieur.

Veuillez apporter : vos masques, des vêtements confortables, des gants de jardinage et des bottes en caoutchouc.  

Outils : Vous devrez également apporter vos cisailles de jardin et un outil d'affûtage (ne vous inquiétez pas, nous avons des outils de rechange pour vous). 

Nous fournissons des rafraîchissements légers.
